Sareda McPhee serves as the Early Childhood Director based in Baton Rouge, LA, bringing extensive experience in cross-system collaboration with providers, children, and families. Before joining Third Sector, she was the Coordinated Systems of Care (CSoC) Director at the Louisiana Department of Health, overseeing a statewide waiver program designed to reduce out-of-home placements for children and families with severe mental and behavioral health needs. In this role, Sareda adeptly navigated multiple child-serving systems, including Behavioral Health, Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice, and the Department of Education. She collaborated closely with system leaders to execute cross-system initiatives through a governance board, championed the implementation of family-centered practices, and developed key partnerships with community stakeholders.
Prior to her director role, Sareda provided coaching, technical assistance, and professional development to various home and community-based providers. Her success in this role stemmed from her prior experience as a facilitator, assembling family-centered teams to bridge gaps in access to care and address social determinants of health.
Sareda earned a master’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology from Louisiana State University. For over a decade, she has been an adjunct professor, teaching undergraduate courses on sociology, social problems, and societal issues. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Sareda enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, weight training, and indulging in all things music.
