Michael is a Manager on the Partnerships & Project Development team, dedicated to our Behavioral Health and Diversion and Reentry Practice Areas.
Before joining Third Sector, Michael spent four years as the Development Director at New Beginnings, a nonprofit service provider addressing mental illness and homelessness for families and veterans in Santa Barbara County. In this capacity, he provided strategic direction for the organization's fundraising efforts, directed communication efforts, and strengthened relationships with community partners and other stakeholders.
Prior to that, Michael worked for three years as a Proposal Writer at Yardi Systems, a leading technology provider for real estate and investment management companies. To support the community, Michael simultaneously served as a Grant Writer at the Channel Islands YMCA to expand educational opportunities for underserved young people.
Michael holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California. As a graduate student, he conducted program evaluation research to support federal legislation designed to improve safety and expand housing opportunities for individuals and families living in vehicles. Michael obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, double majoring in Economics and History.
