Aubrey Patiño (she/her) is a Project Manager based in Ann Arbor, MI, with 20 years of experience in housing justice work. Her expertise includes addressing social determinants of health, advancing reforms in the criminal legal system, leading initiatives for individuals experiencing homelessness, and improving the behavioral health sector.

Before joining Third Sector, Aubrey developed innovative housing-first programs, serving as the Executive Director of Avalon Housing, where she promoted the mission of creating healthy, safe, and inclusive supportive housing communities as a long-term solution to homelessness. In her tenure, she expanded the availability of permanent supportive and rapid rehousing, increased access to housing for individuals with criminal backgrounds, expanded access to Medicaid billable services for formerly homeless populations in supportive housing, scaled harm reduction programming system-wide, and implemented the Frequent Users Systems Engagement model. This data-driven approach aims to break the cycle of homelessness, incarceration, and emergency room use for individuals with complex needs.

Aubrey remains passionate and committed to organizing in solidarity with her community and advocating for resources and policies that promote permanent solutions to homelessness locally and statewide. She excels in fostering cross-sector collaborations and is committed to driving transformative social impact guided by principles of racial equity, anti-oppressive practices, trauma-informed care, and community resilience.

Aubrey is a licensed social worker in Michigan and holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan with a concentration in community organizing.
