Ty is a Manager at Third Sector based in Brooklyn, NY. At Third Sector, Ty has supported government agencies across the country in building equitable, data-backed programs focused on developing opportunities for those who historically have not been given the necessary resources to succeed.
Ty has led and supported projects in Third Sector's Economic Mobility, Early Childhood, and Diversion and Reentry practice areas. From 2021-2024, Ty partnered with Connecticut's Office of Early Childhood (OEC) to obligate, disperse, and manage $350m+ of federal relief funding spanning from equitable funding formulas for stabilization grants to early childhood workforce development to quality of care initiatives.
In Colorado, Ty partnered with the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) in 2024 to analyze historical program data to inform a new funding formula that will disperse $8.5m per year to public 2- and 4-year institutions and community-based organizations across the state. Ty loves using his project management, data analysis, and facilitation skills to help address common challenges across governments.
Prior to his work at Third Sector, Ty was a data analyst for an online insurance marketplace in Boston and graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in Mathematical Economics and African-American Studies. Outside of Third Sector, Ty loves exploring the many great hiking areas in the Northeast, running, and playing guitar.
