Alysha is a Director based out of Boston, MA.

Prior to joining Third Sector, Alysha was a Senior Innovation Strategist at Commonwealth, a mission-driven organization that designs, pilots, and scales solutions to help financially vulnerable people achieve financial security. Alysha conducted consumer research on the awareness, use, and impact of different financial services, coordinated bi-annual convenings of regional financial institutions with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and supported state-level policy work to remove regulatory barriers to innovative financial products.

Alysha was previously an Emerson National Hunger Fellow through the Congressional Hunger Center. In this role, she worked with the Financial Stability team at United Way of King County (Seattle, WA), playing a key role in implementing tax time savings initiatives including introducing two new savings products to United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. In addition, she evaluated the impact of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) time limit policy on childless adults and provided recommendations for workfare opportunities with local nonprofits. During her time with the Family-Centered Social Policy program at New America, a DC-based think tank, Alysha analyzed social and public assistance policies and identified narratives of bias in policy making. She also researched innovative technologies that help financially vulnerable individuals access social services and manage public benefits.

Alysha graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology and Spanish with minors in public health and gender studies.
